Dear
Jenni,
Thank
you for contacting me regarding Congressman Steve King's amendment to the House Farm Bill.
As
you know, Congressman King's amendment would affect interstate regulation of livestock production methods.
The legislation would prevent states such as California from requiring livestock producers in another
state to comply with their own production standards in order to sell products in that state.
This
amendment was included in the House Farm Bill which passed the House of Representatives on July 11th.
The Senate version of the Farm Bill does not include this language. I hope Congress will quickly move
forward with the Farm Bill process and find a way to reconcile the differences between these two bills.
As they do, I will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind if these provisions are considered.
Again,
thank you for contacting me.
I look forward to continuing our conversation on Facebook (www.facebook.com/SenatorBlunt)

Missouri and the country. I

Sincere regards,
Roy Blunt
United States Senator
