Hi there! My name is Earl. I know...I know..."just like the t.v. show". Not at all, actually. I am WAAAY smarter than THAT guy! But in my own way...I'd LOVE to win the lottery and come home with YOU! I'm a 6-year old, German Shepherd Mix. I'm a big guy but I'd say just about the right size for snugglin' on the couch or sleeping next to you in bed...I have a very soft and warm coat that would feel nice cuddling up next to now that it's getting chilly outside. OR on my own bed... I'm easy!! I just want a home again. I lost my last owner kinda suddenly and well...I was a little territorial when I was taken to Wayside but that just shows how loyal and protective I can be to my humans. You just need to know that I will be very protective of my humans and their home so as long as you are ready for that then I'd love to meet you! The humans here at Wayside have been so great and kind to me and I've been really good since I've been here, but they think I'd probably do better in a home without kids under 12. And since I'm such a good protector...I should really be the only male dog you have and I should really meet any female dogs you might have just to make sure we get along alright. But that's not just for me, ya know! I hear they like to do that for all the dogs around here. I'd hate it if we fell in love with each other when you came to meet me and I had to come back because we didn't do it just right! I want to go with you to my FOREVER forever home. But don't worry...the ladies LOVE me! How could they not...I mean look at my smile! Here's the thing that I think sets me apart... I am a TRUE gentleman. No foolin'! I am polite. I'm not a "jump all over you" kinda guy. I like treats and toys and I'm very gentle when taking either with my mouth. Manners...just part of my charm! I take a leash well...you may even notice I wiggle a bit when you put it on me because I love taking walks and I walk on a leash very well. Did I mention that I'm smart? I know "sit" and "shake" and if you're smart too...I bet together we can add a few more tricks to my repertoire that we can use to dazzle and amaze your friends! I mean..."OUR" friends. Though I'm not a puppy...that can be a good thing if you're looking for a smart and handsome guy who CAN be playful and mellow then I am DEFINITELY the dog for YOU! I love it when my human gets down on my level and rubs my back and my belly! Man, do I LOVE that!! I AM "partially" house trained but when a volunteer took me out around midday...I did my business outside. I really just want to find a loving and nurturing home with some humans who will love me as much as I love them. This is a great place if you're a dog without a home but it can't compete with snuggling on the couch with you and getting my belly rubbed.
