Dear
Jenni,
Earlier this year, a 12-week old Florida panther crossing a road was struck by a car and left for dead. He survived, but the head trauma caused by the accident will likely prevent the kitten from ever returning to the wild again.
With all-too-frequent reports of endangered panthers killed on roads as their habitat is lost to development, Florida's big cats are in urgent need of our help.
But as the elections near, Florida panthers are facing the reality of an increasing number of anti-environment candidates who want to slash funding for the habitat conservation programs that are critical to saving more panthers from unnecessary death.
Please donate $20 today to help elect a pro-environment Congress that will fight for the critically endangered Florida panther.
With only 100 to 160 adults left in the wild, the Florida panther is one of our country's most critically endangered species, and if an anti-environment Congress is elected this November, funding for a number of the federal programs that are key to conserving important habitat for panthers--including the Endangered Species Act, Land and Water Conservation Fund, and National Wildlife Refuge system--is at significant risk of being gutted.
We're working around the clock to turn up the fight to elect a Congress who will stand up to Big Polluters and special interests that are trying to roll back our country's bedrock environmental laws--and we don't have much time.
In these final weeks ahead of the November 6th elections, your gift will help educate voters through radio and television ads, direct mail, and canvassing in battleground areas.
We've got a big fight in the next month to elect a Congress that will fight for wildlife--donate $20 today to help reach our $35,000 goal by Sept. 28th and win the fight for Florida panthers. The upcoming elections will have far-reaching consequences for Florida panthers and many more endangered species--including whooping cranes and Hawaiian monk seals. Policy decisions made in Congress in the months to come will shape the fate of key wildlife habitat from coast to coast.
Together--right now--we can elect a wildlife-friendly Congress that will fight to conserve wildlife habitat, clean air and clean water--so that Florida panthers can return from the brink of extinction.
Your gift can help win the fight to save the Florida panther from extinction. Donate $20 today.
Thanks for all you do to protect wildlife.
Sincerely,
Sue Brown
